A cute idea to get your students writing creatively, this lesson introduces the power of written language as well as the practice of proofreading. Given names of candy bars as prompts (Baby Ruth, Mars, 5th Avenue), students begin writing a story. After a few minutes they pass their paper to a classmate, who continues their peer's story. Students pass their papers a few more times in the activity. The second part of the activity focuses on proofreading, and includes a proofreading rubric.
