Congratulations are in order for your new novelists, but, they still have a big job to do! After the drafting process, they become editors. As part of a large writing unit, this lesson is one of the last parts of the writing process for young authors. They review editing marks and complete a sample sentence together. Then, learners edit several example sentences from a worksheet, which can be easily found online. Once they have edited their own work, scholars check off different aspects on a list of editing goals. Have them create "before and after" paragraphs to show the power of editing!
