Is one shoe still a pair? A tough question first graders can answer after exploring numbers that double. They are shown a series of images such as, tigers, shoes, paper towels, and bowling pins. They create a doubles chart by first documenting the number in each image and then doubling it by writing a related equation. For extra practice they double the dots on nine dominoes.
