In this learning about presidents lesson plan, students discuss background information about George Washington, explore the Mount Vernon website and print out paintings of George Washington. Young scholars examine the paintings and discuss his black leather covered trunk. Students use household objects to create their own trunk and fill it with things George Washington kept in his trunk.
