Explore Volume - Homework 17.6

Learners estimate the volume for each of the nine simple figures shown. They then build it themselves with cubes and record the actual volume. Although this was designed as a homework assignment, most children do not have a set of unit cubes at home. With that in mind, consider this as an ideal in-class assignment for understanding the concept of volume for solid figures. For a real sweet treat, use sugar cubes as the unit cubes and have the class glue them in place to display for back to school night!
