Fire up your class with interesting facts and information about the lava, gases, steam, ash etc. that come out of a volcano when it erupts. Young scientists examine the eruptive materials that are produced by a volcanic eruption, learn about their components, and resulting events like landslides, earthquakes, and tsunamis. They also create cookies that resemble obsidian and pumice rocks, discussing their interesting features before they eat them.
