End-of-Year Practice Test (Grade 4 Math)

The end of the year is approaching and that it's time find out what your fourth grade mathematicians have learned over the past few months. Offering a new take on standardized testing, this Common Core-designed assessment includes both multiple choice and open-ended math problems that challenge students to come up with their own numeric solutions.

Instructional Ideas

  • Prior to assigning this assessment, teach your class different test-taking strategies that they can practice using
  • Have the class work in partners or small groups correcting the assessments, allowing them to discuss their answers and support each others' learning
Classroom Considerations

  • To support the vision impaired a large-print version of the test is provided, though your school's printers may not be able to produce a document this size
  • If Internet-connected devices are not available in your classroom, schedule time in your school's computer lab so students can practice taking online assessments
  • Though very similar, there are a few minor differences between the paper and computer-based versions of the test
  • This resource is only available on an unencrypted HTTP website. It should be fine for general use, but don’t use it to share any personally identifiable information
