Contemporary North Africa: A Sociological Perspective

After examining Western stereotypes of African culture and common perceptions of Islam, groups research the language, technology, symbols, norms, and values of North African countries, including Morocco, Algeria, Libya, Egypt, and Mali. Teams then present a proposal requesting funding for a journey to the country that demonstrates their understanding of that culture.
