Your young mathematiciaans collaboratively brainstorm the geometric properties of a circle in this vocabulary rich, geometry lesson plan. Step by step a plethora of properties and shapes emerge as learners fold their circles to create and define many geometric vocabulary terms. Symmetry, diameter, parallel, vertex and polyhedron are but a few of the ideas explored.
Instruct students to use their interactive notebook, foldable, or regular math notebook to record their discoveries, especially all of the vocabulary. As homework, have them finish defining and illustrating the vocabulary in their notebook
