- Set up activities in centers—spend time during the day having a small group visit each center to accomplish activities
- Give participants a composition notebook along with a list of the written activities, allow them to choose prompts they wish to finish independently
- Send the list home for families to choose at least one activity to complete then bring in a finished product to show to the class
