Students discuss the number of simple machines in the human anatomy. They watch a PowerPoint and video to explore how biomedical engineers must use engineering fundamentals as well as anatomy, physiology, and medicine to modify or control biological systems. Students examine how muscles and tendons act and analyze the forces involved during contraction.
