Acrostic Poetry

An acrostic poem is the focus of a lesson designed to encourage scholars to express themselves through poetry. Using their name, young writers brainstorm adjectives that best describe them then share their work with their peers to better get to know one another. Instruction and practice come by way of a whole-class and small group writing sample.
