Common Core Aligned Resources for 5.G.A.1
Use a pair of perpendicular number lines, called axes, to define a coordinate system, with the intersection of the lines (the origin) arranged to coincide with the 0 on each line and a given point in the plane located by using an ordered pair of numbers, called its coordinates. Understand that the first number indicates how far to travel from the origin in the direction of one axis, and the second number indicates how far to travel in the direction of the second axis, with the convention that the names of the two axes and the coordinates correspond (e.g., x-axis and x-coordinate, y-axis and y-coordinate).

Integers and the Coordinate Plane - Problem Solving 23.1
5th - 7th CCSS: Adaptable
On a separate piece of graph paper, pupils create a coordinate plane. They follow the directions in each step to plot the ordered pairs in order to answer the associated question. This is a wonderful way to practice using the Cartesian...
Algebra: Graph Points in the Coordinate Plane - Practice 13.1
4th - 7th CCSS: Adaptable
Learners solve 12 problems where they are given points on a coordinate plane and write the coordinates for each point. They answer 12 problems where they are given ordered pairs and must identify the point at each pair. Pupils graph two...
A Lesson on the Supply and Demand of Toy Fads
6th - 8th CCSS: Designed
Let's all Hula Hoop! Scholars research the supply and demand side of toy fads in the United States. They analyze video clips and news articles to complete graphs on how the supply curve slope works in concert with the demand for products...
