We will solve a multistep algebraic equation. You will be introduced to algebra tiles where a \"long\" green tile represents x and the small square tiles represent integers. We will create zero pairs to isolate x. We will create equal groups for each x tile. We will review and understand that addition and subtraction are inverse operations. We will also review and understand that multiplication and division are inverse operations. We will begin solving this two-step equation by understanding we need to isolate the term with x. We will first add or subtract to get that term alone on one side of the equation. We will then multiply or divide to force x to have a coefficient of 1. We will check our solution by evaluating our original equation using the value we solve for.\n
