The solution to a system of linear equations is an...\nIn this #shorts math video we will be using elimination to solve a system of linear equations. We are asked to find the y value of the solution of the system of linear equations. The solution to a system of linear equations is an ordered pair (x, y) where the two lines intersect. We will identify a pair of like variable terms between the two equations that have the same coefficient. Since the coefficients have the same sign, we will rewrite one of the equations with each term being multiplied by -1 or changing to the opposite sign. We will then add all like terms between the two equations. We will solve the equation for x since we eliminated y. We will then evaluate the first linear equation for this value of x to solve for the value of y in the solution. We will identify the correct solution. An exemplar solution is modeled and explained.
