Out of the $2.3 trillion travel and tourism industry, only about 5% stays in the local community. Wishing to change this, as well as provide an opportunity for cultural integration, CEO and Co-Founder of visit.org Michal Alter has created an eye-opening, transformative experience, which includes genuine human interaction to improve the public knowledge of and engagement with society's needs.

The idea of immersion travel turned into a global movement when Alter teamed up with local non-profits and community-based organizations hailing from all corners of the world and joining in their passion for experiential travel and social impact. Visit.org is building the world's leading platform for social impact travel experiences, allowing millions of users to discover, support, and interact with 'do-good' organizations both virtually and in-person. They are now on track for every trip itinerary (personal or professional) to include a minimum of one half-day social impact travel experience by 2025.

\"We want to make the world a better place through travel,\" says Alter.

What are daily immersion travel programs? Here are some examples.

You can take a day walk in New Dehli, learn about the marginalized children of the city, and support the shelter homes' provisions of healthcare and education.
