After seeing her godson spend some time in the hospital, surrounded by kids who were having their birthdays without the laughter and joy that comes with their special day, Stefanie Grimm had an idea. Even if you are hospitalized, there is no reason that you shouldn't have a birthday party! This generous thought was the seed that grew into The Confetti Foundation.

The mission of the Confetti Foundation is to supply birthday parties to kids who have to spend their birthdays in the hospital. The foundation was started with the hope that families will be able to shift their focus from their child’s sickness for just 30 minutes and celebrate.

Here’s how it works: Hospitals receive “party kits” for the child celebrating the birthday. The party kit is complete with a specific theme (there are dozens of themes for kids to choose from), decorations, snacks, gifts, and more. The hospital staff receives the party kit and performs the set up for the child and his or her family. Although the party is not a cure, it will be a welcome distraction and a good reminder that every child deserves to be celebrated!
