Steve Lipman, The Singin' Dentist, is the moniker of the accomplished jazz singer into whose shoes Dr. Lipman steps when he goes onstage to perform.

While his two \"sides\" showcase very different skill sets, Dr. Lipman doesn't see any issue with committing himself fully to both his dentistry work and his stagecraft. And neither do his family and friends, who get a big kick out of attending The Singin' Dentist's shows.

\"It's more than just singing,\" says Dr. Lipman's wife Shelley, who is also the office manager at their practice. \"He is performing. He does the whole act and it's very exciting to watch him.\"

And while Dr. Lipman is unlikely to sing in the presence of patients who come to him for cleanings, he does sometimes treat employees to a tune or two. Nancy Winters, a Treatment Coordinator, shares her delight: \"Late at night, when the staff is here, you do hear him singing,\" she says. \"He makes people happy.\"

The Singin' Dentist's shows are frequently sold out, and Steve has plans to continue making and performing music for the foreseeable future. As he puts it: \"I love, LOVE doing my dentistry, but I have a true passion to sing—and that's how it's gonna be!\"
