Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) affects nearly 3 million veterans across the world. \"Dancing Well: The Soldier Project\" is dedicated to bringing the healing power of music, dance, and community to veterans and families coping with PTSD and TBI.

Dancing Well's mission is to restore the well-being of veterans and families affected by PTSD and TBI through community dance. Dancing Well was born out of executive director Deborah Denenfeld’s belief in the healing power of dance. In a pilot program with soldiers at Fort Knox, she worked closely with staff psychiatrist Edwin O. Walker to develop and implement a dance series specifically attuned to the needs of soldiers with PTSD and/or brain injury and the results were incredible, changing the lives of the vets who participated.
