In Ventura County, CA alone there are over $2 billion worth of exports that are picked by immigrant field workers, making them an essential part of the California economy.\u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003eWith the goal of helping more people become involved in immigrant's lives, making friendships, and supporting the field workers of Ventura County, California, husband and wife duo, Judy and Ted Lucas founded Friends of Fieldworkers in 2013 in response to the Oxnard Fire of October 4, 2013, where dozens of field workers and their families lost everything.\u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003eMost of the families whose homes were destroyed by the fire worked in the fields and they were left to fend for themselves. They needed food, clothing, furniture, and other essentials that they couldn't afford. Judy stepped in and has been advocating for the field workers and their families ever since!
