I still remember sitting in the evenings in the workshop at Camp Sunapee being taught how to put my rocket together and watching the more experienced kids build much more sophisticated designs. During this Coronatime, it all came back to me and I found the simple joys of a home project like this nurturing and extremely entertaining. It’s something I’ve been able to do with neighbors outdoors over the past few months. We get all our rockets cheaply and quickly from Estes Rockets, and don’t be put off by our failure in the launchpad scenes in this video; we’ve learned a lot since then and our success rate is far higher! Ps. Pro tip: don’t set up your rocket engine and fuse days ahead of time. It gets moisture into it and won’t always ignite.
