We've always aimed for stylish, practical, easily packable and cleanable, while not leaking in the backpack. Many have worked for awhile only to fall into the discard pile or lost pieces pile for one reason or another. The true survivor (and still going strong) are the Monbento boxes that I found in a Paris furniture show about six years ago. Made by a French company with a very Japanese design, they have married the best of two worlds. MB Boxes, as they're called, are beautifully designed, super tight fitting and lovely on the eye. I like to have three sets always in circulation, as some are always stuck in the dishwasher, and all are interchangeable. They are definitely our road tested go to. Since we started using the MB Original, they've also introduced a number of other shapes as well as an insulated version that is also fantastic for soups and lunches when it is cold outside. I do believe this company is not only doing good work, they are on a creative upswing. Keep an eye on them.
