Children love surprises, even more, when they can be the ones to reveal it. Practising scissor skills has never been so fun. Is it a creepy crawly? Is it a patch of pretty flowers? You’ll have the cut the grass to find out!

MATERIALS:
- Plain paper
- Coloured card (green is necessary)
- Pen (optional)
- Scissors
- Glue stick

INSTRUCTIONS:
(1) With your coloured card, make an animal - here we have used tan, brown, red, orange, yellow and green to create a hedgehog in an autumnal scene
(1a) Using the pen, you can draw a face on your animal or add any finer details, if you wish
(2) Glue each piece to the plain piece of paper, then put it to one side.
(3) Getting a new piece of green card, cut strips down the horizontal side. Make sure to stop around an inch from the bottom.
(4) Put a line of glue along the bottom of the paper and stick the grass on top.
(5) Once completed, let your child use the scissors to cut the grass and reveal who is hiding!\n
