We will understand the if the longest side of a triangle squared is equal to the sum of each square of the remaining two sides, then the triangle is a right triangle. We will review the Pythagorean Theorem as a squared plus b squared is equal to c squared, where c is the hypotenuse and a and b are the legs. We will review that the hypotenuse is the longest side of a right triangle and opposite the right angle. We will also review that the legs, a and b, of a right triangle are the sides that form the right angle. We will use the Pythagorean Theorem to identify the missing two sides. We will write equations using the Pythagorean Theorem. We will solve for the missing side using inverse operations and square roots. An exemplar solution is modeled and explained.\n
