In particular, a woman named Marozia, the world’s first and foremost pornocrat, was both the mother of a pope, the lover of a pope, the grandmother of two more popes, the great-grandmother of two more popes, and the great-great-grandmother of another pope. That’s a hundred and fifty years of Popes! In reality all our information of this era comes from one dude with a chip on his shoulder and it was more about political struggles with the Germans and the Byzantines, but come on with a name like the pornocracy how can you ignore it\n
