I have been using Wordsift for years, so I will walk you through all the secret and hidden features. You are able to see the most common words in your article and mark words with different academic word lists. It is the number resource I use before I assign any reading to my students. I copy and paste the text and then it gives you a visually representation. From there I can pick and choose the vocabulary words I want to pre-teach to my students. My favorite is the academic language list! This resource allows me to support my English Language Learners and teach them academic vocabulary. I have had so many ELL students learn complex words through using the Wordsift website! This is a great resource to support your students whether they are in the classroom or at home doing distance learning. \n
