So, the diagonal forms...\nIn this short math video we will answer a standardized math test question where we are asked to find the length of the diagonal of a rectangle. We will review that the four angles of any rectangle are 90 degrees. So, the diagonal forms a right triangle. We will learn that we can apply the Pythagorean Theorem to any right triangle to find a missing side. We will review that a and b in the Pythagorean Theorem represent the legs of the right triangle which form the right angle. We will identify c, the hypotenuse, which is opposite the right angle. We will use the given values in the Pythagorean Theorem to solve for the missing hypotenuse. We will square the value of each leg, add the values together, and then find the square root of each side of the equation for the missing side length. An exemplar solution is modeled.\n
