On this part of the Writing test there are numbers that you MUST include in your essay if you want to get a 7 or higher.

On Writing Task 1 you'll see a graph (pie chart, bar chart) and you need to choose the most important part of the information.

If you want to score well in Task Response then you need to choose the key numbers and put them in your essay. If you don't have these numbers then your score goes down.

How do we choose the numbers? You always follow these steps: plan, write, then check.

In the planning phase you choose the key numbers so that when you start writing you will be sure to include them in your essay.

If there is a line chart that shows you change over time with the population in Taiwan from 1985 to 2015 then these are the numbers you need to circle and put in your essay.

Include the beginning numbers and the highest and lowest.

If you see any number that is interesting then circle it and put it in your essay.

It won't be wrong if you think it's important.

For static tables where you compare numbers you need to circle the highest and lowest numbers and possibly the second highest and second lowest\n
