A student recently asked me about how to answer this Speaking Part 2 cue card.

On the face of it, it seems easy- talking about shopping.

However, speaking about only one shop, one place, for 2 minutes, is challenging.

That’s what you have to do on the exam- speak for 2 minutes about the topic, which, in this case, is a singular shop.

So, if you are talking about multiple shops, that won’t earn you the highest scores for Fluency and Coherence.

Also, remember, you don’t have to address the bullet points. You are not graded on that.

The examiner only cares about you sticking to the initial line on the cue card, “Describe…”.
