The task of describing a famous person may pop up on your IELTS Exam, so be ready with today's vocabulary!

In the last video lesson, I provided some idiomatic vocabulary that could be used when discussing fame and celebrities.

However, remember:

All IELTS centers around the world are required to use the same list of questions.
This is a long list, and examiners can choose any of them to use with any candidate.
The list of questions changes periodically.

So, while there may be some myths or forums that say one topic or another is common in certain places, this may not reflect the reality.

Having said that, the task of describing a famous person does pop up on the IELTS Exam, so today’s sample answer will be useful!

While you watch, take notes on the interesting vocabulary and transition phrases which are utilized.

Now, a word about Part 2 notes. Firstly, you should write all of your notes in English, so you don’t waste time translating while you speak.

Secondly, use the whole minute before you talk to take notes, and write as much as you can.

You can use these notes while you speak, so put as much information as you can there! It is perfectly OK, and, indeed, expected, that you will glance down at your notes while you talk for 2 minutes in IELTS Part 2.

I took notes for one minute before I provided today’s answer, and I only used a quarter of them. That’s completely fine as well. It’s better to have too much than not enough!

So, practice today’s IELTS Speaking Part 2 answer on your own. Take notes for a full minute, and then talk for the whole 2 minutes.\n
