When given a point, there are many ways to evaluate the trigonometric functions of the point. The methods include: using the unit circle if the point is a point on the unit circle otherwise a right triangle with one of its legs on the x-axis and the other leg, perpendicular to the x-axis is drawn such that the reference angle is at the origin. The x-coordinate of the given point represents the adjacent of the reference angle while the y-coordinate represent the opposite of the given point. Using the Pythagoras theorem, we can obtain the hypotenuse of the right triangle. Having the opposite, the adjacent and the hypothenuse of the reference angle of the right triangle, we can then use the SOHCAHTOA principle to evaluate the six trigonometric functions accordingly.\n
