The methods include: using the unit circle if the point is a point on the unit circle otherwise a right triangle with one of its legs on the x-axis and the other leg, perpendicular to the x-axis is drawn such that the reference angle is at the origin. The x-coordinate of the given point represents the adjacent of the reference angle while the y-coordinate represent the opposite of the given point. Using the Pythagoras theorem, we can obtain the hypotenuse of the right triangle.
