The underlying etiology of PCOS involves hyperandrogenism (high levels of androgen, like testosterone) and menstrual irregularity. PCOS is also associated with insulin resistance. In this lesson, we discuss a wide variety of signs and symptoms of PCOS and why they occur, and we also discuss conditions that are highly associated with PCOS.\n
