Watching an injured hawk taking flight was a real highlight in our journey so far. They also gave us behind the scenes access to their facilities where we filmed a spunky juvenile Great Horned Owl having a physiotherapy session. WILDNorth treats almost 3,000 injured and orphaned animals each year, including their rescue, rehabilitation, and release whenever possible. Looking to feel better about the environment? Watch this video! Edmonton left us feeling nothing short of inspired about urban nature and biodiversity. Widely known for its massive oil and gas industry and the rather infamous \"tar sands\", the Edmonton we discovered was a total surprise! We took many walks within the city parks - Edmonton has over 460! - making it the largest expanse of urban parkland in North America and providing a critical wildlife corridor. We also visited Elk Island National Park where we were able to view wild bison herds roaming the Canadian prairies - less than 50 kilometres outside city limits! Big, burly wild bison?
