Ball valves are particularly effective and desirable because of the fact that they are durable and last for years after the initial shutoff. Ball valves are quarter turn valves that have a round-closer element with matching rounded seats that create a tight seal. Ball valves are very versatile and are often used in shut-off applications. Ball valves are used to transfer gases, liquids, and “slurries”. In this course by CTE Skills, you will learn the different body styles of ball valves as well as their main purposes.\r

In this course on understanding ball valves, you will learn:\r

-The different body styles of ball valves, including single piece, two piece, and three piece\r
\r
-The various port styles of ball valves, including full port and standard/reduced port\r
\r
-How flow direction varies depending on port arrangement, including two-way direction and three-way direction\r
