In 2016, as a mathematics specialist at Watkins Elementary School in Washington, DC, she was named as a recipient of the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST), the nation’s highest honor for math and science teachers. The National Science Foundation (NSF) administers PAEMST on behalf of the White House.

Kellogg, who previously taught mathematics and science at Watkins, uses the Math Workshop Model to build student comprehension. Students solve real-world tasks, engage in mathematical conversations and make connections across concepts. She shares these strategies to support her colleagues across her school district.\n
