His background is in both Developmental and...\nBaptiste Barbot is an Assistant Professor of Quantitative Methods in the Department of Psychology at Pace University, and Adjunct Assistant Professor at Yale University, Child Study Center. His background is in both Developmental and Differential (Individual Differences) Psychology. He earned my Ph.D. from Paris Descartes University in 2008, after which I completed a 3-year postdoc at Yale and was then appointed as a Research Faculty in the Yale Child Study Center. His main research interests are in differentiation and the study of individual differences in development. Specifically, my research focuses on creativity and creative thinking development in adolescence (in various domains including music, writing and visual arts), in relation to adolescents’ identity formation (thinking processes involved in identity formation, self-concept development, personal expressiveness and individuation). His most recent interest in this area includes the specialization of creative potential during adolescence as well as the relation between creativity and identity development among adolescents at-risk for delinquency and other externalizing problems. He received fundings from the Spencer Foundation in 2012 to conduct a large longitudinal research on this issue. His ultimate goal is to develop creative-thinking training programs that may support positive changes in identity development and prevent maladaptive outcomes. Besides this specific research focus, he has also a strong interest in psychological and educational measurement, and the application of new methods to study and model change and development.HeI has authored several tests and assessment techniques (creativity measures, situational judgment tests and self-report measures of personality-related constructs), and he has taught psychometrics and research methods in France and the United States.\n
