He's kind of like a reverse Charles XII, a terrible tactician before he flees to a middle eastern power who actually regains his land and then some. Some guys have all the luck. Oh, and it's probably worth mentioning the fact that his refuge in Persia had a pretty noticeable impact on Mughal culture. They were already a bit removed from their Timurid / Mongol roots, but this really sealed the deal and made them much more Persian-inspired, and that's part of the reason why the Taj Mahal (and, y'know, all those other tombs) look the way they do. Footnotes: @1:01 Akbar wanted to see what kids did when not exposed to language, so he locked a few up and wouldn't let anyone speak to them. @1:15 This isn't a case of \"Old/Unfamiliar Religion = Myth/Superstition\" either, this was separate from his religious beliefs. I mean, it's not quite Year of the Four Emperors, but still.
