By 2045, latinos, blacks, asians and other ethnic groups will constitute 51% of the nation and non-hispanic whites will be a minority. Today, 44 percent of millennials are minorities, making them the most diverse adult generation in US history. How did this happen? I tell you. To begin with, there is the increase of what demographers call the \"new minorities.\" 75% of the population growth in the last decade is formed by Latinos and Asians. In 2011 for the first time in the United States, more babies were born to minorities than white babies. But this is not mainly due to immigration. So what is it about? This demographic change is due to the racial minorities born here. As America becomes more diverse, the white population will grow older and older. This may cause anxiety among some, but demographers and economists say that a younger and more diverse population is generally positive for the United States.
