The demonstrations have been chosen to highlight various aspects of chemistry such as rates of reaction and energy changes, eg the catalytic oxidation of ammonia and the reaction of potassium manganate (VII) and glycerol. All the reactions have been assessed as safe to carry out in the classroom by CLEAPPS and Emma hopes some real life chemistry will enthuse and inspire her students.
