He also remarked that Trump is fulfilling Russian President Vladimir Putin's \"fondest dream\" by creating animosities between the US and its NATO allies. \u003cbr/\u003e              Sen. Dick Durbin stopped short of saying the president should apologize for his remarks, but said that \"it must be impossible for our allies to figure out exactly what the United States is saying.\"\u003cbr/\u003e              Meanwhile, Republican Senator John Kennedy said he understands the president's strategy when calling on European countries to increase their NATO defense spending.  \u003cbr/\u003e              The Trump administration also released a list of $200 billion in goods that could be hit with tariffs and China said it would retaliate.
