They are there to be proportionate so that the big companies who have more than enough infrastructure to deal with GDPR implementation can do it. (Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs) stressed the importance of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) law which comes into play on Friday May 25th.\u003cbr/\u003e              Instead of separate rules regarding data in separate nations across Europe, there's now a single set for the entire EU.\u003cbr/\u003e              The new rules apply to all users in the 28-nation EU, regardless of where the companies collecting, analysing and using their data are located. \u003cbr/\u003e              So the rules will have the same effect on giants such as Facebook and Google and small US businesses with just one European client alike.\u003cbr/\u003e              The rules clarify individual rights to the personal data collected by companies around the world for targeted advertising and other purposes.\u003cbr/\u003e              The rules are prompting companies to rewrite their privacy policies and in some cases, apply the European Union's tougher standards even in the US and other regions where privacy laws are weak. \u003cbr/\u003e              Although they take effect as Facebook faces an enormous privacy crisis , that timing is largely
