Co-Founder Robert De Niro was also at the screening with his wife Grace Hightower.\u003cbr/\u003e              Garbus explained why it was an important story to tell. \u003cbr/\u003e              \"Well after the election of Donald Trump, it was clear that when he no longer had Hillary Clinton to defeat, he chose his next favorite target and that was the press, especially the New York Times. The New York Times had a very special place in his heart for tweeting and calling them failing,\" Garbus said.\u003cbr/\u003e              The term \"Fourth Estate\" is meant to empathize freedom of the press. That's something the twice Oscar-nominated is familiar with, as well as the stakes that news organizations currently face.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"I have the First Amendment in my blood. I am the daughter of a First Amendment lawyer. So, for me to kind of see what these journalists did under incredible pressure, such competition in an environment where any mistakes could cost you the credibility of your newspaper, it was an incredible honor to be there. And I think that hopefully people will take away the seriousness and professionalism of these journalists,\" Garbus said.\u003cbr/\u003e              Garbus explained the importance of a free press, knowing full-well that dismantling trust in the press has always been the first step for tyrannical governments to seize power.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"Yeah, there are some really dark examples you can look at. I mean Hannah Arendt wrote that the first thing a totalitarian regime does is undermine the credibility of the truth, because once you can't agree on the truth anymore you can kind of get away with anything, right? Right. And there's no - so 'The Fourth Estate' is really there to hold power accountable,\" Garbus said.\u003cbr/\u003e              New York Times investigative reporter Mark Mazzetti is a subject of the film. The Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist says we're living in \"interesting times.\"\u003cbr/\u003e              \"Yeah I mean I don't think there's been as intense a period of time that we've experienced before that we have in the last year-and-a-half or so. Trump has sort of made us, you know, remember our real mission, which is, you know, bringing, bringing out truth, even when we're attacked her for being fake news. And, you know, I think the documentary shows that like basically we're just working hard to get at the facts,\" Mazzetti said.\u003cbr/\u003e              Elisabeth Bumiller, Washington Bureau Chief of the New York Times, addressed the issue of the president calling them the \"failing New York Times.\" \u003cbr/\u003e              \"We often like to say at the Times that we're even failing at failing because it's been actually - there's been an enormous interest in what we do in the last year and a half.
