In addition, he faced threats from Weinstein's legal team. \u003cbr/\u003e              But Farrow persevered, feeling lifted after the story broke in the New Yorker last fall.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"It's a huge relief. There were obstacles arrayed around this story that I thought maybe would never be overcome, and we overcame them because of women like Emily Nestor who put her name on her story at a time when she had no idea what was going to happen or what the retaliation would be. And I'll spend the rest of my life grateful to her,\" Farrow said.\u003cbr/\u003e              New York Times reporters Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey, who also won the Pulitzer for their coverage of the Weinstein scandal, were honored at Tuesday's gala. \u003cbr/\u003e              Collectively, the three journalists opened the floodgates for the outpouring of testimonials from women that faced abuse in the workplace.\u003cbr/\u003e              Farrow also spoke of another Weinstein accuser, Rose McGowan, who he has \"a tremendous amount of respect for.\"\u003cbr/\u003e              \"She's talked very frankly about how shattering her experiences have been, and I don't think any of us can fully comprehend the trauma and pain that survivors carry with them. But all I can say is that in my interactions with Rose I saw her sincerely endeavor to sound the alarm about something important, and I'm grateful to her for that,\" Farrow said.\u003cbr/\u003e              Another survivor on the red carpet was Team USA gymnast Aly Raisman, who was one of the many victims of USA Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nasser. \u003cbr/\u003e              Raisman was there to support fellow team member Rachael Denhollander, the first victim to come forward with allegations of sexual abuse against Nasser.\u003cbr/\u003e              Raisman explained the support on the difficult road to healing.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"Well, I think that for me just knowing that, you know, you go through something hard I think everyone's a survivor of something, and you know it's never easy. Nobody can show you the pathway to healing. But I think what keeps me comforted is knowing that I'm not alone. Knowing there's a lot of people that are supportive and has a lot of people they want change,\" said Raisman.\u003cbr/\u003e              Another honoree was Rep. Maxine Waters. The California democrat has no issue that many of this year's 100 most influential people are survivors.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"I think in celebrating survivors, etcetera, we've continued to be able to tell the story about what happened. And the more activity you have around it, the more it gets out, and the more people join in wanting to do something about the problem. So, I think it's all right,\" Waters said.\u003cbr/\u003e              Activist Tarana Burke was another honoree for her work in bringing #MeToo into the Zeitgeist. \u003cbr/\u003e              And on the cusp of a verdict in the Bill Cosby sexual assault trial, Burke does not feel that an acquittal will set the movement back.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"We've been seeing people, celebrities like Bill Cosby, over the years become, you know, not held accountable for the crimes they've been accused of. I don't know if it's a setback at all. I think that it's a lesson for us that we have a lot of work to do, and that we still have a lot of shifting to do in our culture. It's indicative of the fact that our culture hasn't actually shifted yet,\" Burke said.\u003cbr/\u003e              Honoree Brian Grazer feels it's important that survivors are recognized by the prestigious collective.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"I think we're trying to find solutions or remedies to really, really bad and tragic situations. So I think we're trying to champion people that are doing something to help, you know, to help cure people, to help you know to help those injuries,\" Grazer said.\u003cbr/\u003e              Over the past six months, notable figures like Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey, Louis CK, and Charlie Rose, to name a few, have fallen with allegations of sexual misconduct.\u003cbr/\u003e              As the first woman to come forward against Weinstein, Nestor is unsure if there can ever be redemption for these perpetrators. \u003cbr/\u003e              \"I don't know. To be honest, I don't know,\" Nestor said.\u003cbr/\u003e              Then Farrow chimed in.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"I think that's a really fair answer. You know, all I can say is that a coalition of brave women, and she was one of the leaders, helped sound the alarm about the worst category of actors that we're dealing with here,\" he said.\u003cbr/\u003e              Then Farrow added:  \"In terms of the shades of grey, look I've been, I've been grateful to see that the cases in which there was sloppy reporting, or you know, less deleterious activity was getting conflated with the worst kind of activity, I think people get it. I think we've been self-regulating in the press to an extent, you know. People saw that Aziz Ansari piece, and they said, 'OK, this is not quite the same thing as Harvey Weinstein.\"\u003cbr/\u003e              Burke sees it another way.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"There's redemption for everybody. I think that almost everybody is worthy of redemption. I don't know many people, who are throwaway. But it's a lot of work. You don't just get redemption automatically, right?
