Chessy Prout's book, \"I Have The...\u003c/span\u003e\n\u003cspan class='full-description hide'\u003eA former student who was sexually assaulted while attending an elite New Hampshire prep school has written a book about her experience, offering advice and inspiration to other survivors.\u003cbr/\u003e              Chessy Prout's book, \"I Have The Right To: A High School Survivor's Story of Sexual Assault, Justice, and Hope\" was released Tuesday. \u003cbr/\u003e              Prout said she wanted the book to make clear that sexual assault, \"did not define my life.\"\u003cbr/\u003e              Prout was a 15-year-old freshman at St. Paul's in 2014 when she accused Owen Labrie of assaulting her as part of a \"Senior Salute\" competition among upperclassman seeking to have sex with younger students. \u003cbr/\u003e              Prout said she's been working through years of therapy to not \"demonize\" Labrie  for the assault. \"It's important to remember that he's human, too.\"\u003cbr/\u003e              Her parents sued the school in 2016, shortly after Labrie was convicted of sexual assault, child endangerment and using a computer to lure the girl for sex.\u003cbr/\u003e              Labrie, of Tunbridge, Vermont, was sentenced to a year in jail but remains free pending appeals.\u003cbr/\u003e              The Associated Press typically doesn't identify victims of sexual assault unless they come forward publicly, as Prout has done.\u003cbr/\u003e              St. Paul's says it fully supports her \"trailblazing\" work to give a voice to sexual assault victims, saying its culture \"does not condone or tolerate\" what happened to Prout.\u003cbr/\u003e            \u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003e              New York - March 6, 2018\u003cbr/\u003e              1.
