Speaking at a press conference at the Berlin International Film Festival on...\u003c/span\u003e\n\u003cspan class='full-description hide'\u003eWILLEM DAFOE: 'I AM HAVING MORE OPPORTUNITIES NOW THAN I'VE EVER HAD'\u003cbr/\u003e              Willem Dafoe says his career has not been affected by ageism.\u003cbr/\u003e              Speaking at a press conference at the Berlin International Film Festival on Tuesday (20 FEB. 18), where he is being given an Honorary Golden Bear for lifetime achievement, Dafoe - who is nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his work in drama \"The Florida Project\" this year -  said he's getting more opportunities now than he's ever had.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"I think a lot of it has to do with I've planted a lot of seeds by willing to work in different kinds of movies and being interested in different kinds of cultures, different kinds of movies, different kinds of places and those seeds are growing, so now I'm finding more opportunities than I've ever found before and that makes me happy,\" he said.\u003cbr/\u003e              Asked by one journalist whether the award also signified that he was now old, the 62-year-old star jokingly shouted.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"I'm old?! I'm not old. You don't know the half of it lady.\"\u003cbr/\u003e              \"No, I think the other way, I think, 'Wow I'm little young for this.' But I've been working for almost 40 years in the movies so I figure that's fair. And I've made a bunch of movies so we have something to talk about, we have something to celebrate. Listen, I'm very honored.\"\u003cbr/\u003e              Dafoe, who began his big-screen career in 1981, said he just wants to continue doing what he's always done.\u003cbr/\u003e              Performing and making movies and making theater is still mysterious to me, it's still always changing. It's always different, so the goals are kind of the same. To be engaged. To always feel like you're working to find some sort of, you know, find that thing that connects us all. To be useful, useful really and to be engaged in a way that sometimes you can't be engaged in regular life. Because when you have the kind of commitment and concentration when you're performing you sometimes get the sensation of feeling the world drops away and you feel present in a way that is sometimes hard to feel present in life. So I'm always trying to achieve that and to try to connect those moments when I feel that so it's one long ribbon of being there. That's the ambition.\"\u003cbr/\u003e              One thing audiences aren't likely to see him doing any time soon though is television.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"TV? I'm not attracted naturally to TV, I really think there is a difference between television and cinema. I mean we could argue about this, but I still think there's a big difference. TV sits in the culture in a more popular way than films do, but for me I still find many opportunities in films and I think films have a special power that TV never has, almost never.
