STORYLINE:              It may...\u003c/span\u003e\n\u003cspan class='full-description hide'\u003eLEADIN:\u003cbr/\u003e              A history teacher in Cairo has an unusual method of educating his students.\u003cbr/\u003e              He dresses up as different historical figures and acts out scenes from the past.\u003cbr/\u003e              STORYLINE:\u003cbr/\u003e              It may not look like it, but Ahmed Al-Zahaby is preparing himself for the classroom.\u003cbr/\u003e              The Cairo history teacher takes a novel approach to teaching high school students - by dressing up and acting as famous characters from Egypt's history. \u003cbr/\u003e              In his lessons, he brings to life former leaders of Egypt – such as Mohamed Ali, the Ottoman ruler credited as the founder of modern Egypt. \u003cbr/\u003e              Al-Zahaby says that most teachers just make their students memorise information needed to pass exams.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"That leads the students to lose interest and to just copy what he memorised in the curriculum to pass the exam without any interest in going deeper into the information he receives. Therefore, I decided to do something different and to teach in a manner that doesn't concentrate on memorising.\" \u003cbr/\u003e              Al-Zahaby uses make up, costumes and his acting skills to attract students and to help them retain the information in an entertaining way. \u003cbr/\u003e              The idea only came to him last year.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"To deliver the information properly, and especially when teaching students history, you have to think outside of the box and out of the usual teaching routine and be a good actor.\" \u003cbr/\u003e              His students are clearly enjoying the lesson. They sit quietly, enthralled by his performance.\u003cbr/\u003e              Student Miral Maged is tired of the memorising she has to do in other classes.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"When we come here and see the historical characters that we learn about come to life in front of us and they tell us about their achievements and the events they went through, we come to love those characters and it becomes easy for us to study.\"\u003cbr/\u003e              Al-Zahaby actually teaches the high school students at a learning centre where people can come as an alternative to school.\u003cbr/\u003e              Ziad Abdul Magid says he stopped going to school after he became bored with the lessons.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"Sometimes, the questions on the exam come in an indirect way and if I do not understand the subject well I won't be able to answer the question.
