The Lunar New Year has become a highly...\u003c/span\u003e\n\u003cspan class='full-description hide'\u003eLEAD IN:\u003cbr/\u003e              Luxury hotels in the US are offering special packages and services that cater specifically to Chinese tourists in the run up to the Chinese New Year celebrations. \u003cbr/\u003e              The Lunar New Year has become a highly anticipated event on the West Coast of the USA in cities such as Los Angeles and Beverly Hills.\u003cbr/\u003e              \u003cbr/\u003e              STORY-LINE:\u003cbr/\u003e              High end hotels in Beverly Hills are going out of their way to help Asian guests enjoy the Chinese New Year celebrations in comfort and style.   \u003cbr/\u003e              At the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills, the Lunar New Year package includes Chinese high tea served in the lobby each afternoon.\u003cbr/\u003e              There are also special New Year extras in the rooms, such as Chinese newspapers, luxury turndowns, and Chinese tea and menu items.\u003cbr/\u003e              The Waldorf Astoria's director of sales and marketing, Vanessa Williams, says the hotel has seen month on month growth in the numbers of high level Chinese travellers since it opened in June 2017. \u003cbr/\u003e              She says bespoke packages for Asian clients are a must. \u003cbr/\u003e              \"There will be touch points in the guest room that will really acknowledge the Lunar New Year as well as amenities that speak to the Year of the Dog and then we have in our lobby lounge a beautiful tea that has been created by Chef Steve Benjamin,\" she says.\u003cbr/\u003e              The Lunar New Year packages are all running throughout February. \u003cbr/\u003e              In 2017, Los Angeles welcomed 48.3 million visitors, setting a new tourism milestone for the seventh consecutive year, according to the Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Board (LA Tourism). \u003cbr/\u003e              The board says the record figure is one million higher than 2016's total: that's an increase of 2.2 percent, driven by an all-time high of 41.2 million domestic visitors. \u003cbr/\u003e              LA Tourism says the number of international visitors overall was up 0.9 percent to a record 7.1 million visitors, outperforming both the city's own projected forecast and inbound travel to the US as a whole in 2017. \u003cbr/\u003e              The organisation says the international markets with the four biggest gains in 2017 were China, South Korea, Canada and India, in that order. \u003cbr/\u003e              Luxury hotels in Beverly Hills are increasingly catering to the needs of Asian visitors. \u003cbr/\u003e              At The Beverly Hilton, where the Golden Globe awards are held each January, the Year of the Dog is being welcomed with a package that includes deluxe accommodation, spa-style baths, city views and a Chinese menu.\u003cbr/\u003e              Home comforts include custom slippers, lush bathrobes, Chinese newspapers, Chinese tea in each room, a special Chinese breakfast menu and a Chinese dessert tray. \u003cbr/\u003e              A customary Chinese New Year celebration \"Tray of Togetherness\" is filled with sweet treats.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"Our Chinese business as grown tremendously here at the hotel and we're responding to that by way of offering a package for Chinese New Year,\" says Beverly Hilton director of sales and marketing Antwon Dixon. \u003cbr/\u003e              \"With that package, once you enter our hotel you'll experience robes inside your guest room, we'll have slippers ready to go for you as well and then we doing our Chinese cuisine from dim sum to the macarons, to even the hot tea that we are serving in the room. We're just being very meticulous about our guests visiting from Chinese and Asia.\" \u003cbr/\u003e              The Luxe Rodeo Drive hotel is currently offering Chinese New Year packages to tourists with two complimentary tickets to the Celebrity Homes Tour, with narration offered in Mandarin.\u003cbr/\u003e              Amenities in the room include special teas, brochures and a Chinese menu. \u003cbr/\u003e              Guests can also opt for the Luxe Club / Rooftop 360 package, which includes a visit to the hotel rooftop, afternoon light bites, evening food tastings and hors d'oeuvres, an expanded continental breakfast and moonlight movie watching.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"Chinese New Year is a big event, It's a big stage in calendar for our travellers. A study was conducted and confirmed that the campaign's effectiveness in China alone recorded 82 percent favourable responses. That says to us that it's definitely a success and that China visitors know they are welcome in LA,\" she says. \u003cbr/\u003e              Starline Tours, which runs an open top bus tour of celebrity homes and LA sights, now includes Mandarin speakers on its services. \u003cbr/\u003e              \"We're running numerous specials on the Chinese market. We're very excited about that so we are very active to get individuals into Los Angeles from that vast market. We have maps printed in Chinese.
