There hasn't been a triple lineup like this since 1982 and the next won't occur until 2037.\u003cbr/\u003e              The eclipse will be visible best in the western half of the U.S. and Canada before the moon sets early Wednesday morning, and across the Pacific into Asia as the moon rises Wednesday night into Thursday.\u003cbr/\u003e              The U.S. East Coast will be out of luck; the moon will be setting just as the eclipse gets started. Europe and most of Africa and South America also will pretty much miss the show.\u003cbr/\u003e              A blue moon is the second full moon in a month. A supermoon is a particularly close full or new moon, appearing somewhat brighter and bigger. The lunar eclipse that will be occurring the morning of January 31 will be beautiful conjunction of the Earth, moon and sun, when the moon passes into the Earth's shadow and turning that beautiful red color. We'll also have a supermoon, which is when the moon passes close to the Earth and its orbit around the Earth and you get these beautiful, large full moons and so the supermoon has an opportunity for folks to see this large, full moon in the sky. And then, the blue moon. Now, the moon won't actually turn blue. Blue moon is just a name for when we get the second full moon in a month.\"\u003cbr/\u003e              3. The moon will appear very large in the sky, relative to maybe the smallest full moon. It's going to be about 14 percent larger. That translates to about 30 percent brighter than a typical full moon. So, that's something that's very noticeable. It's going from the oven of being in direct sunlight into the Earth's shadow which is like going into the freezer. And so, that dramatic temperature change can be measured by instruments either on the Earth or in orbiting spacecraft. And so, that temperature change tells us something about the particle sizes on the surface of the moon. Because there's no atmosphere, it cools very quickly.
