Toy companies are hoping their poo-themed toys will be a trend that's tricky to flush away.      ...\u003c/span\u003e\n\u003cspan class='full-description hide'\u003eLEADIN:\u003cbr/\u003e              Adults might turn their noses up at it, but toilet humour is set to take the toy market by storm in 2018.\u003cbr/\u003e              Toy companies are hoping their poo-themed toys will be a trend that's tricky to flush away. \u003cbr/\u003e              STORYLINE: \u003cbr/\u003e              A cuddly poo might not be what you fancy snuggling up with in your bed at night. \u003cbr/\u003e              But several toy companies are hoping to change that. \u003cbr/\u003e              Toilet and poo-themed toys abound at the London Toy Fair this year. \u003cbr/\u003e              These tiny plastic toilets are Flush Force by Spin Master.\u003cbr/\u003e              Water is poured into the toilet and shaken to reveal monsters hiding inside the pan.\u003cbr/\u003e              These aptly named number two packs cost 2.99 UK pounds (approx. 4.26 US dollars) and include two monsters. There are 150 to collect in total.\u003cbr/\u003e              They are known as blind bag collectables because the contents are a mystery at the point of sale.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"All our research shows that potty humour is making a big comeback, so I mean, it's never really gone away but now it's having a bit of a resurgence so we're really tapping into that with Flush Force,\" says Becca Hanlon, brand manager at Flush Force.\u003cbr/\u003e              The London Toy Fair is the UK's largest toy, game and hobby trade show, an important event that sets trends for the year ahead. \u003cbr/\u003e              Frederique Tutt is a global toy industry analyst at the NPD Group. \u003cbr/\u003e              She looks at trends and developments in this billion pound industry, and even she is a bit taken aback by the rise of poo.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"It's toilet humour. So we're going to see some collectables, sold in blind bags and when you unfold them you discover the kind of surprise you would get in the toilet,\" she says. \u003cbr/\u003e              No joke is too crass for the toy manufacturers, who seem to know their target market well.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"You know it's always a recipe for success with boys, you know we might turn up our nose to it, so to speak, but actually little boys really like that, it's fun for them,\" says Tutt.\u003cbr/\u003e              Up against the Flush Force is Character Option's PooPeez.\u003cbr/\u003e              Rather than hiding inside the toilet bowl, these monsters come hidden inside toilet paper. Each paper, costing 2.99 UK pounds (approx. 4.26 US dollars), contains two monsters. \u003cbr/\u003e              There are currently 36 PooPeez to collect, with more due to be released in autumn. \u003cbr/\u003e              \"Toilet humour is very much on trend at the moment and I think these products have a particular target market, I think boys of a certain age are fascinated by poo and these are very humorous products as well. There's lots of funny names, they're called things like Little Squirt, the Toot Fairy,\" says Laura Gunton from Character Options.\u003cbr/\u003e              But aren't the toy makers concerned that adults will disapprove of toilet humour? After all, there's still something of a taboo around poo jokes. \u003cbr/\u003e              \"There's nothing really overly rude about it, it's just a bit funny so I think it will be a popular brand with boys and I'm sure parents won't mind it,\" says Gunton.\u003cbr/\u003e              One man who claims to be already cashing in on the trend is Martin Grossman, the boss of Glasgow toy maker HGL.\u003cbr/\u003e              Grossman concentrates on low price point toys: all of his poo-themed toys cost 99 UK pence (approx. 1.41 US dollars).\u003cbr/\u003e              Unicorn Poo is a glittery clay-like gloop, a tactile toy for children with a cheeky sense of humour. Grossman says he's already sold 400,000 units.\u003cbr/\u003e              Close behind with 350,000 sales, is his Whoopee Putty. There's nothing sophisticated about the joke: squeeze the putty and it makes toilet noises. \u003cbr/\u003e              Grossman says: \"You've got the toilet, you've got the putty, and the putty is inside and when you start to move it around, it moves around and starts making wind sounds.\"\u003cbr/\u003e              His latest addition to the poo range is Slime Poo (approx. 1.41 US dollars), which is a much more slippery customer.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"This is the slime poo, in the shape of a poo, and this is lovely because this is like two tone gel. It just keeps coming and coming. Great fun,\" says Grossman.\u003cbr/\u003e              But these aren't novelty items tucked away at seaside resorts and joke shops, Grossman says major supermarket chains are stocking his toilet toys.\u003cbr/\u003e              With his range of poo-themed products attracting mainstream attention, it's unsurprising that Grossman is quick to defend toilet humour.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"It's fun, toilet humour has been here since time began.
